Do you need the adapter even if you have a wireless internet, because i have linksys wireless router.

I’m afraid so. Notice how it’s all in reverse this generation.
Last generation, the Xbox had almost everything installed to make it easier on the gamer while the PS2 had you buying accessories for the full gaming experience (network adapter, multitap for 4-player games, memory card, etc.) and PS2 did much better than Xbox.
Now, PS3 is the one with pretty much everything installed whilst Microsoft has you buying separate accessories for better gaming experience. And they’re doing better than Sony’s fat blu-ray player.
*ahem* Sorry, I mean Computer Entertainment System.

just buy a lynksys wireless adapter and you’ll be fine
if your 360 is close to your pc computer w/e you could just use a wire
that comes with the system so it doesn’t actually have to be wireless
